Rescheduled Civil War Talk at Buena Vista, Tuesday 4/26 at 7:00 pm

The focus of this illustrated talk is on the bombing of Ft. Sumter on April 12, 1861 (an event 150 years ago on this date that began the Civil War) and the prelude to this event and Southern secession, the election of 1860 in which Abraham Lincoln was elected President of the United States.   The talk is suitable for older school age children and their families, students studying this period of American history (who may be eligible for extra credit, ask your teacher for more information), and anyone interested in what are perhaps some little known and interesting anecdotes connected with  these events on this the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the Civil War.
Note: This event was re-scheduled due to Central Library's closure last week.
